Fixed Price Surgery at The New Victoria Hospital

What you need to know

Your admission

Your consultant will arrange your admission date which we will confirm in writing along with the fixed price for your treatment. We reserve the right to amend or refuse treatment at a fixed price should your consultant be concerned that your general medical condition could result in complications.

Your account

We ask you to pay in full for Fixed Price Surgery before admission. A full refund will be given should you change your mind before admission. However, you will be charged at our standard tariff if, after admission, you decide not to have the operation or change your treatment. At the end of your stay you will be billed for telephone calls, visitors’ meals and other services which are not part of your Fixed Price Surgery and should be paid for on your discharge from hospital.

Your stay

The length of your stay will be determined by your consultant. Unlike many private hospitals, our fixed prices are not subject to a maximum number of days stay. No extra charge will be made if your consultant feels you need to stay for longer than originally expected. There will be no refund if you are discharged earlier than expected.

Your Consultant’s fees and prostheses costs

The fixed price will include the fees of your consultant and anaesthetist for services provided during your hospital stay. If this is not the case, it will be made clear when the price is confirmed and your consultant surgeon and anaesthetist will invoice you directly. You are advised to confirm with your consultant what these fees will be prior to your admission.

Although consultants’ fees are normally included in the fixed price, they are independent contractors and provide their services directly to you.

Prostheses, such as artificial hips and knees, are not included in the fixed price but we will be pleased to provide an estimate of the likely costs prior to your admission.
