Dr Andy Poullis is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician based at St George's Hospital, London and Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton. He qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and completed his junior and specialist training in London. He has carried out a great deal of research into bowel disease and liver disease and was awarded a M.D. by the University of London for this. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George’s Hospital Medical School.
He is involved in all aspects of gastroenterological care running weekly gastroenterology clinics at St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals along with specialist Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinics at St George’s. At St George’s Hospital he is involved in the intake and care of emergency medical patients.
Dr Poullis carries out regular upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy lists at St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals and is an accredited screening colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.
He has undertaken research in a broad range of gastrointestinal problems and has published widely. He continues to supervise research projects at St George’s Hospital, is a co-editor to “Gastroenterology Today” and also Medical Advisor to South West Thames N.A.C.C. patient group.
Dr Poullis is interested in all aspects of gastroenterology but in particular dyspepsia (indigestion), abdominal pain and all bowel disorders.

Dr. Tony Rahman graduated in Medicine and Physiological Sciences from Christ Church, Oxford, UK (1986-1992).
He was awarded Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 1995 and appointed as a Fellow of the Royal College in 2008.
In 2003 he was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine at Imperial College, London, (2003) following three years researching mechanisms and novel therapies in acute liver failure at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School & Royal Free Hospitals, London.
He was accredited as a Consultant Specialist in Adult Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Internal & Critical Care Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK).
He is now a Consultant Physician in Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Critical Care Medicine at St. George’s & Queen Mary’s Hospital, London.
He has written several articles, papers and reviews in peer reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings. Current research interests include liver diseases, nutrition & oesophageal reflux and gastric dysfunction.
He is able to offer expertise in the surveillance and management of gastrointestinal and liver cancer, acute and chronic liver & pancreatic diseases and functional bowel disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and reflux.
