Lucy Ostlere graduated with Honours from St Bartholomew’s Medical College in 1986, having gained a BSc in Psychology from University College London in 1983.
She trained in Dermatology at the Chelsea and Westminster, Royal Free, St Helier and St George’s Hospitals. Her specialist research was on atopic eczema for which she was awarded an MD in 1998.
She was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at St George’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital in 1996 and is currently head of the Department at St George’s and runs the training program for the specialist registrars.
She set up and runs the patch testing service for the diagnosis of contact dermatitis at the New Victoria. She also started photodynamic therapy at St George’s Hospital for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer.
Her special interests include eczema and the diagnosis of contact dermatitis, and the management of skin cancer including cutaneous surgery and photodynamic therapy.
