The New Victoria Hospital Future Plans
There are certain businesses, particularly in the service sector which are predominantly judged by how up to date they remain. Most people for instance would not care to fly in a 50 year-old aircraft, no matter how well maintained. The hospital is no different and it is our passionate belief that unless we can provide the most up to date care using state of the art facilities and equipment we cannot offer our patients the service they deserve.
Plans are currently underway to build an extension to the existing hospital which will provide four new operating theatres with ancillary accommodation and de-contamination unit, a sixteen bedded day unit, a high dependency unit, a new pharmacy, an enlarged pathology laboratory, six additional Consulting rooms, an enlarged Imaging Dept. and a new kitchen and staff cafeteria. The bed numbers will increase to 47 and the existing building will undergo a complete refurbishment and upgrade.
As one of the very few independently owned hospitals left in the country we are proud of the fact that our facilities and services are at last on a par with and in most cases better than the large hospital groups
